Shayla Fernandez M.A., BCBA LBA

Shayla Fernandez earned her Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University and has four years of experience working with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Her passion for helping others and her dedication to evidence-based care led her to a fulfilling career as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Shayla has worked in various settings, including clinics, homes, daycares, schools, and communities, where she has provided compassionate, individualized interventions tailored to the unique needs of her clients.
Shayla is deeply committed to fostering family involvement and creating supportive, empathetic environments for the families she serves. She emphasizes the importance of collaboration and rapport-building with clients, families, and staff to ensure interventions are both effective and meaningful. A lifelong learner, Shayla actively seeks opportunities to stay up-to-date with advancements in ABA, combining evidence-based practices with a personalized approach to care.
In addition to her clinical work, Shayla enjoys mentoring and training team members, as well as creating engaging materials for clients and colleagues. Her dedication to professional growth and her collaborative nature make her an invaluable part of the Better Together Behavioral Health team.
Outside of work, Shayla loves spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Duke. She enjoys visiting zoos and aquariums, reflecting her appreciation for animals and the natural world. Shayla’s expertise and compassionate approach ensure she will make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients and families she supports at Better Together Behavioral Health.
